NOVAMONT RESEARCH, A REAL CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT.

Novamont's bioplastic reduces the production of greenhouse gases, thanks to the use of renewable raw materials of agricultural origin, to the biodegradation and compostability of its various applications, and to the fact that it performs as well as traditional materials.

Improving environmental performance.
This is the case of the mulching films used in agriculture, and of the biofillers for tires, in which, for example, the environmental advantage depends on the improved performance of the tires themselves. The example of the tires is symbolic, where real and extremely important results have been obtained. Indeed, in the case of the commercialized "Biotred" technology, which was developed in close collaboration with Goodyear's European research centre, it has been calculated that the contribution to reducing greenhouse gas production may be as high as 9.52 g per kilometre. This is equal to 20% of the objective set by car manufacturers for reducing CO2 emissions by 25% by 2008.
