Catia Bastioli and Novamont model at World Bioeconomy Forum

On September 7 - 8 the 5th World BioEconomy Forum, the global platform for Circular Bioeconomy stakeholders to exchange views and discuss relevant topics related to the sector, was held in Ruka, Finland.

The initiative has been an important opportunity to highlight the role of bioeconomy and bioproducts in mitigating climate change.

Among the experts and speakers also Catia Bastioli, Novamont CEO, who participated at the CEO Panel discussion on September 7 to talk with other specialists about the importance of bioeconomy and to illustrate Novamont development model as a successful case study in the sector. 

In particular, Bastioli highlighted the role of research at Novamont in finding innovative feedstocks from renewable origin, like sugars and vegetable oils, or the ongoing studies for the valorisation of scraps. She also emphasized the Group’s commitment in developing, at territorial level, low-input agricultural supply chains that can regenerate soils and produce raw materials for biorefineries.

At the event, moderated by Teresa Presas, Senior Advisor World BioEconomy Forum, took part also Fernando Leite, CEO Lipor, Petri Rasinmäki, Vice President, Board and Paper Mills Business Unit Valmet, Marco Eikelenboom, Sappi Europe CEO.
