European project Biomotive hosted at the Novamont’s Headquarters and Research Centre

The Consortium Biomotive, project funded by the Bio Based Industries Join Undertaking as part of the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, of which NOVAMONT is a partner, held his meeting at NOVAMONT’s Headquarters and Research Center.

The delegation had the opportunity to visit NOVAMONT’s main research center, an area of 5,000 sqm with equipment and facilities ranging from the laboratory scale to innovative pilot plants in the field of bioplastics, biotechnology, organic chemistry and agronomic research.

The BIOMOTIVE project is paving the ground towards the production and subsequent market penetration of biobased automotive interior parts with enhanced technical performance, improved environmental profile and economic competitiveness, with the aim of replacing the fossil-based, non-biodegradable counterparts. Within the project, innovative and advanced biobased materials with an increased biobased content (60-80%), will be produced starting from renewable raw materials, leveraging innovative production techniques.

The Consortium has among its partners: Maier Scoop (Spain), Metsä Fiber Oy (Finland), Thuringisches Institut Fur Textil-Und Kunststoffforschung Rudolstadtev (Germany), Instytut Ciezkiej Syntezy Organicznej Blachownia (Poland), Nadir Srl (Italy), Greennovention Sp Z OO, Leda Polymer Sp Zoo (Poland), ISC Ro Technology Srl (Romania), Intap Tobik Spolka Jawna (Poland), University of Pisa, Patentopolis Bv (Netherlands), Fundacion Cartif (Spain), Union Internationale Des Transports Publics (Belgium) and Rina Services Spa (Italy).
