Novamont’s bioplastics production process illustrated at the European Biopolymer Summit in London

On June 14 and 15 the European Biopolymer Summit was held in London.

The event brought together experts from biopolymer manufacturers, brand owners, chemical companies, major associations, raw materials and technology companies, consultants, to discuss challenges and developments within the sector. Participants had the chance to get insight into the latest updates on the environmental projects, the feedstock’s landscape, the role of biopolymers in the circular economy, new technologies and much more.

On June 14th Alberto Castellanza, International Sales Director Novamont, was among the speakers to illustrate Novamont’s biopolymers production process and the technologies involved.

In particular, Castellanza highlighted Novamont bioeconomy model based on products conceived to find solutions to specific environmental, economic and social concerns. Novamont approach takes into account the way materials are produced, consumed, and then disposed of: specifically, Mater-Bi bioplastics can be composted, be recovered through chemical and mechanical recycling while multimaterial applications, where bioplastics are combined with paper, can be recycled in the paper stream.
