Sunpower®
Sunpower® is a professional plant protection product for non-agricultural use, with a desiccant action, based on plant-derived pelargonic acid.
The pelargonic acid used in Sunpower® is obtained from renewable sources (vegetable oils with a high oleic acid content) through a pioneering, low-impact process that does not use ozone.
Pelargonic acid, a saturated fatty acid naturally present in the environment, represents a more sustainable alternative for weed control. It acts as a non-selective contact herbicide exclusively on the green parts of plants and rapidly biodegrades in the environment, leaving no toxic residues on treated crops, in the soil or in the surrounding environment.
Sunpower® is a non-systemic product used for the control of annual and perennial weeds in urban and industrial environments.
Sunpower® acts by contact, desiccating already emerged weeds through the action of pelargonic acid. The process occurs in synergy with sunlight and is enhanced by high temperatures. Desiccation-based weed control is very rapid, taking only a few hours, and does not cause damage, unlike mechanical weed control.
Sunpower® is used to control the growth of weeds that can cause aesthetic and structural damage, as well as potentially obstruct road and railway traffic and the flow of waterways in urban and tourist areas, along roads, in rural and industrial areas, and in cemeteries.
Sunpower® is registered in Italy (Italian Ministry of Health authorisation No. 17782, dated 12 February 2021), in compliance with EU Regulation 1107/2009.
